Buckie Thistle 4 v Keith 1

MAROONS LOSE OUT IN PENALTY SHOOT OUT

BUCKIE THISTLE 1 KEITH 1
AET - BUCKIE WON 4-1 ON PENS

Keith fought toe to toe with Buckie Thistle on Wednesday night, but sadly suffered a District Shield exit after 120 minutes failed to separate the teams, the Jags winning 4-1 in the penalty shoot out.

Macaulay Rae turned a Sam Robertson cross into his own net in the 19th minute to give the homesters the lead, but the Maroons gave as good as they got.

The visitors persistence finally paid off with 11 minutes of normal time remaining, Max Berton slamming home a Stewart Hutcheon cross from 10 yards to square matters. Dean Donaldson's troops looked the better side in the extra time period, but neither side could find the back of the net again.

The penalty shoot out turned in Buckie's favour right away with Sam Urquhart converting. Cammy Keith saw his effort saved, before Steven Ross netted for jags.  Andy Smith slotted home for the Maroons, with  Andy Macaskill netting for Jags. Macaulay Rae saw his kick saved, with Lewis MacKinnon putting Jags into the next round with his effort.
