Keith 4 v Fort William 0
CAMMY'S 250TH GOAL AIDS MAROONS WIN
This was no Christmas cracker for sure, but a pre festive victory for Keith fans sent them out of the Balloch Road gates in jovial mood, having witnessed Cammy Keith's 250th goal for the Maroons, and a rasping 18 yarder from Craig Macaskill. Fort William have improved considerably over the past few months, so to earn a first league double of the season, as well as only a third clean sheet, was not to be sneezed at after three weeks of inactivity.
It took the home side less than two minutes to get on the scoreboard, Craig Macaskill slotting home from six yards. Far from heralding a goals avalanche, the ring rusty Maroons had to back pedal as the fiesty Fort youngsters forced them on the back foot.
However, it was the Kynoch Parkers who netted again, on the half hour mark when Cammy Keith was upended inside the penalty area. The Club Captain dusted himself down and ever so clinically rattled home the resultant spot kick for that landmark 250th netbulger, his 15th goal of the season.
As half-time approached, both sides went close, Fort's Jack Brown firing inches wide, Cammy Keith nodding just past with a looping header, and Keith custodian Greg Simpson sticking out a foot to deny Aidan Taylor.
The Maroons looked more sprightly after the break, and it was really game over in the 58th minute when James Brownie clipped the ball home from eight yards amidst a crowded penalty area. Cammy Keith then scorned a chance after being set up by young Gregor Macdonald, firing wide.
The best was kept for last though, and with 73 minutes played, wee Macaskill blasted a rasping 18 yarder into the roof of the net, giving the Fort custodian no chance for his 5th goal of the season.
