Strathspey Thistle 1 v Keith 3

MAROONS BOUNCE BACK TO GRAB DOUBLE

Keith bounced back from an indifferent first half to grab the league double over their hosts Strathspey Thistle. The victory hoisted the Maroons up into 9th spot in the league table. The match signalled yet another goal for all time top scorer Cammy Keith, and also heralded 19 year old Nigerian James Olumofe's first ever Highland League goal.

Looking out of sorts for most of the first period, the visitors found themselves trailing to a 33rd minute goal from ex Maroon Kris Duncan. Although the stand side assistant referee momentarily held up his flag ‘Baker’ played on and clipped the ball  into the roof of the net. Following a brief discussion with the referee and the aformentioned official the goal was allowed to stand.

The Maroons looked a different kettle of fish after the break and two goals in three minutes set them on their way. With 53 minutes gone, a curling Macaskill free kick was powerfully headed home by Cammy Keith for his 22nd goal of the season. Then three minutes Keith headed the ball back across goals and 19 year old Scott Gray headed it into the roof of the net.

With 12 minutes remaining the win was well and truly sealed when Olumofe gleefully rifled the ball into the far corner from out on the left side of the penalty area. The youngster could have grabbed a couple more after that, but he rather excitedly fired wide of target.
