Deveronvale 2 v Keith 0

OFF COLOUR MAROONS LOSE AT BANFF

Keith never got out of the starting blocks in midweek at Princess Royal Park, in their bid to move up to 9th spot in the table. Decidedly looking off colour they found hosts Deveronvale quicker, sharper and more eager on the night, and ended up playing second fiddle for most of the game.

The Banffers grabbed the lead in the 9th minute, Dane Ballard driving a 15 yarder into the roof of the net. The nearest the Maroons came to scoring in what was a lacklustre first half display, was a dipping Michael Selfridge shot that flew inches off target.

The Maroons were forced to replace goalie Craig Reid at half-time through injury, replacing him with 17 year old Kyle Irvine. The youngster proved his worth in the second half, showing good handling and pulled off at least three good saves. He was helpless though in the 55th minute when Matt Jamieson curled a 12 yarder into the top corner of the net.

A disappointing display and result for the visitors, but they could have no complaints with the outcome as they went home pointless.

KEITH -  Reid (Irvine 46), Jeffrey, Emmett (Scaife 76), Yeats, R Robertson, Yunus (Gray 65), Thomas, Andrews, Selfridge, Nawrocki, Strachan.  Subs unused – McKeown, Stewart, McCredie, J Robertson.

Referee – Mr R Taylor
