Keith FC 0 v Brechin City 6

TEN MAN MAROONS HIT FOR SIX

A slick moving Brechin City outfit hit 10 man Keith for six in midweek, in fierce, windy conditions leaving the Maroons a well beaten side. The homesters were left to play the last 22 minutes with ten men after Kieran Yeats received a second yellow card.

Keith skipper Michael Selfridge was making his 100th competitive appearance for the Club, and played his part as the Maroons held their own in the first half. Indeed they could have gone in at half-time on level terms, but David Cox, who went on to nab a hat-trick, headed home a minute fro the break.

Brechin completely dominated the second half, and netted again within four minutes of the restart, Cox getting on the end of a Davidson cross. The Brechin ace, notched up his hat-trick in the 65th minute, reacting quickly to slam home a Scott cross.

Keith were left with a mountain to climb midway through the half when Kieran Yeats received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away after a free kick was awarded against him.

The game ran away from the homesters after that and substitutes Julian Wade and Cameron Ross added to the tally, the sixth goal coming two minutes from the end when a swerving Michael Cruickshank corner seemed to deflect off Ryan Robertson into the net.

KEITH – Demus, F Yeats, K Yeats, Hutcheon, Robertson, Yunus, Ironside (Gray 78), Brownie, Nawrocki (Abdulkarim 78), Mooney, Selfridge. Subs unused – Strachan, Andrews, Irvine.
