Lossiemouth 2 v Keith 4

MAROONS TO THE FOUR AT LOSSIEMOUTH

Keith's fourth away day win of the season last Saturday not only hoisted the Maroons into a lofty 10th spot in the league table, but it also meant that "Deano's Dynamos" have overtaken their points total for the whole of last season, with still 19 games to go!

The Kynoch Park outfit showed character to come back from the loss of an early goal, and also an early second half leveller to send the sizeable Maroon contingent in the crowd home happy.

A chilly, blustery wind hampered both sides, but it was the Coasters who drew first blood after only four minutes when a Brodie Allen cross was headed home by young Ryan Stuart.  The lead lasted 15 minutes, a wind assisted Max Berton free kick being glanced home by Jamie McAllister.

Four minutes later, a Berton corner was nodded home by James Brownie, the skillfull midfielder nabbing his first goal of the season to put his team in front.  The visitors carved out several more first half opportunities without punishing the homesters.

Within five minutes of the start of the second period it was all square when another of Lossie's bright youngsters Moray Taylor, was given space to rifle into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.

That jolted the visitors, and they kept a cool head to grab the lead again with 55 minutes on the clock, excellent play from wee Craig Macaskill bearing fruit with centre forward and skipper Cammy Keith whipping home a low shot for his 11th goal of the season.

The Maroons, could, and probably should, have put the game to bed, but substitute Marc Young was unlucky to see his net bound volley ping off a defender for a corner.  Then Macauley Rae appeared to be clipped inside the penalty area, but play was waved on.

A sigh of relief breathed through those of a Maroon persuasion in the final minute when another fine move ended with Brownie cutting the ball across for the alert substitute Wayne Barron to ram home his second goal of  the season from eight yards.

A good team display capped by a key performance by Max Berton who was here, there and everywhere.  His quick feet are a joy to behold when he is on song.
