Fraserburgh 4 v Keith 0
MAROONS FALL AT HIGHFLYING 'BROCH
Keith have now gone six league matches without a win, but their visit to Bellslea Park was always going to be hard with Fraserburgh protecting the only unbeaten league record still remaining this season. The end result was a third 4-0 reverse in their last four outings, giving the Maroons the leakiest defensive record in the league at the moment. Their cause wasn't helped by the second yellow card to Ryan Robertson, leaving the visitors to play the last half hour with ten men.
Maroons' custodian Greg Simpson pulled off a string of fine saves in the autumn sun, but had no chance with any of the four goals, including two penalties in the last five minutes.
Simpson produced a flying one handed save to deny Greg Buchan in the 10th minute, but could little mid way through the half when Scott Barbour teed up for Billy West to ram home from 10 yards.
Paul Campbell twice fired well over the bar as 'Broch dictated play, then ten minutes from the break Buchan fired wide of the empty net.
Keith's challenge hit the skids on the hour mark when Robertson received a second yellow card, and within three minutes lost another goal. Simpson did well to keep out a net bound Campbell drive, but the alert Barbour pounced to convert the loose ball.
Twice after that Simpson defied Barbour with fine stops, but with five minutes remaining a Ryan Spink hand ball gave Campbell the chance to slot home the first spot kick. Then two minutes into stoppage time Barbour missed the target with his shot, but was deemed to have been clipped inside the area, and Campbell duly rapped home the second spot kick.
