Nairn County 1 v Keith 2

MAROONS COMPLETE LEAGUE DOUBLE OVER COUNTY

Keith held their nerve at Station Park last weekend when they not only nabbed their first league win since 1 December 2018, they also completed the league double over Nairn county, rising a couple of positions in the league table in the process.

Master Marksman Cammy Keith, the Club's record scorer with 228 goals, slotted home his 20th goal of the season from the penalty spot, his 40th such award, another Club record.

The Maroons, looking to atone for the 4-4 draw against Lossie the previous week, opened the scoring when Keith was adjudged to have been impeded by Fraser Dingwall inside the penalty area in the 38th minute, and the skipper made no mistake with the resultant award.

A couple of minutes from the break, Max Berton headed home  a Marc Young throw in for only his second goal of the campaign to make it a happy half time cuppa for the visitors.

Early in the second half Michael Selfrdige was penalised  for tangling with Max Ewan inside the visiting penalty area and Adam Naismith gave his side a glimmer of hope by slotting home from the spot.

Neither side could find the back of the net after that, giving Dean Donaldson a welcome three points, thus ending the recent non win run,and sending theMaroons above Turriff and Strathspey and on the same number of points as Rothes.

KEITH - Simpson, Young, Spink, Rae, McAllister, Robertson, Macaskill, Brownie, Keith, Berton (Porteous 68), Selfridge (Smith 82).  subs unused - Hutcheon, Gray, Lennox, Stewart.
