Keith 0 v Clach 3

UNBEATEN RUN ENDS AGAINST CLACH

Keith’s four game unbeaten run came to a crashing end against a sprightly Clach side at Kynoch Park.  Goalless at half-time, the Maroons were up against it ten minutes into the second half when Demilade Yunus received two quick fire yellow cards, the second one perhaps rather unfortunate, as he appeared to win the ball in his tackle. That left the homesters on the back foot, going on to lose three goals.

Clach were the better side in the first half without finding the back of the net. The ten minute spell after the break saw Craig Ewen’s men show a bit more promise, but then the two yellow cards, left his team chasing the game. From the resultant free kick awarded, Eachainn Miller capitalised by rifling past Craig Reid from 8 yards.

The Maroons had penalty claim turned down four minutes later when a Przemyslaw Nawrocki header appeared to hit a defender on the arm inside the six yard box. The Polish striker then fired a drive inches over the bar.

However, the home side was left a mountain to climb with 66 minutes on the clock when James Anderson pounced to whip home from 10 yards. Then, with two minutes remaining the visiting win was well and truly clinched when Anderson crashed the ball into the roof of the net for his 9th goal of the season.

Although the reduction to ten men didn’t help the Maroons’ cause, they looked decidedly off colour in comparison to recent outings that had seen them complete two draws and two wins, scoring five goals and conceding only one into the bargain.
