Keith FC 2 v Fort William 1
DEADLY FIRST HALF DOUBLE DUMPS FORT
A deadly first half double from top scorer Przemyslaw Nawrocki sewed up the points as Keith accounted for a never say die Fort William marooned at the foot of the table. In the process, the Polish centre forward, looking eager beaver all night notched Keith’s 150th goal against the Fort stretching back to 1985 when they first entered the league.
The Maroons made a bright start and it was no real surprise when they edged ahead after only 13 minutes, Nawrocki latching onto a Rhys Thomas through pass to expertly slot past Fort goalie Kulbacki from 12 yards. However, the visitors were all square 11 minutes later when the home defence failed to clear a corner and dangerman Yves Zama stooped to head into the far corner from eight yards.
Within five minutes the homesters were back in front when a Nizam Abdulkarim free kick saw the alert Nawrocki send a flicking header home from eight yards for his 13th goal of the season. Then, three minutes from half-time the hot shot missed out on a first half hat-trick when he got on the end of a cute Tom Andrews pass, but screwed his parting shot inches past the post.
Although the Maroons continued to hold the upper hand in the second there was no more scoring and as a result of the win, they moved up into 12th spot in the table.
